The Type WT drill collar slips are designed and manufactured in accordance with National Standard for the Petroleum and Nature Gas Industry —SY5049—91 “Slips for Well Drilling”.It is manufactured in a structure of multi-segment pieces with firm structure ,light weight,and large holding range,which is easy to fit the changing of the external diameter of the drill collar due to wear and tear.

Sane inserts can suit different type drill collar slips,each with one insert fixed on.

 Operational requirement and points for attention:

1)It is necessary to measure the actual diameter of the drill collar to see whether it is in the holding range of the drill collar slips before using.

2)To adopt the way of the increasing or decreasing the segment piece of the slip segments for the adjustment of holding range is strictly forbidden.

3)Whether the hinge pin is rotated smoothly and whether there is any blocks or not should be checked before operation.

4)Knocking the handle and the back cone of the slips with big hammer is stricktly forbidden,and be sure to the handle and cone surface.

5)The surface of the collar slips should be kept clean by daily cleaning and the rotary part and back cone should be coated with luberication oil against rusty.

6)Periodic inspection should be done for the drill collar slips:

   a)Checking whether the fixing blot of the collar slip inserts are loosed or not in order to avoid the slip inserts dropping to the well.

   b)Checking whether the collar slip inserts brunt or not.

   c)Checking with ruler to see whether the back cone of the collar slips is worn or not.

   d)Checking  the hinge pin's condition of the slip body, to see whether it is worn or not.

 Packing:  Type WT Drill collar slips will be packed by Wooden case or as clients' request.
